In the realm of legislative processes, the Utah Interim Session plays a pivotal role in shaping policies and advancing important discussions before the start of a new legislative session.
At the end of April, I spent two days in Atlanta attending the Hybrid Schools Conference. Here are three things I learned.
Life moves much faster than it did four decades ago. And it keeps getting faster. The workforce, in turn, is along for the ride with little hope of slowing down. 
“Utah ranks among the top destinations for military families transitioning to a new duty station, a new report indicates.” This is encouraging news and should be celebrated. However, it should not be taken for granted.
In short, the solution to shortages is removing barriers to supply. After all, without widespread abundance of life’s necessities, economic security for self and society is not possible.
We all want our children to achieve greatness, and they can. But not if we compare them to others. Arbitrary standards measured by a high-stakes test undermine the greatness they can achieve.
