2019 Bills

Current protectionist policies allow government-owned liquor stores to sell beer above a certain alcohol limit, but not grocery and convenience stores. As of this April, Utah will be one of only two states that restrict grocery stores to selling 3.2% alcohol.
This bill lowers Utah's sentence length for a class A misdemeanor penalty by one day in order to prevent the deportation of legal immigrants.
Instead of starting the budgeting process with last year's budget and simply adding (and very rarely subtracting) to it, legislative committees should start fresh—from zero.
This bill would allow a person who is issued a protective order to conceal carry a firearm for up to 120 days after the order was issued, without needing a concealed firearm permit.
This bill creates an alternative pathway to licensure by allowing a person to demonstrate their competency in their chosen occupation instead of sitting through a required number of hours of school.
