2023 Bills

This bill requires the Department of Corrections to help inmates obtain copies of their birth certificate, social security card, and either a driver license or identification card before they are released.
Currently, someone can only be found incompetent if they have an underlying mental illness or intellectual disability. If passed, the bill would also allow someone to be found incompetent based on a brain injury.
This bill would punish lying about ingesting drugs by enhancing the underlying offense by one degree.
This bill allows an individual to receive a provisional license to practice medicine in the state if the applicant meets certain requirements and holds an equivalent medical license.
This bill takes the successes we’ve had with food truck legislation and expands it to include other types of mobile businesses that function similarly, but sell a good or service instead of food.
This bill addresses the serious issue of SLAPP suits, (strategic lawsuits against public participation). These suits are often brought by parties with flimsy cases who aim to wear down their opponent’s resources rather than actually win.
