telemedicine

The Beehive State has a longstanding problem with mental health. In 2019, Utah ranked sixth highest in the nation for its age-adjusted suicide rate, and it is currently the leading cause of death for Utah teenagers.
Senate Bill 41, from Senator Luz Escamilla, ensures Utahns retain access to telehealth services for mental health care and passed the Legislature with resounding support. Governor Cox signed the bill into law on March 2nd.
This bill codifies what Medicaid often does already, in providing reimbursement for the use of telehealth services along with normal services.
