In Utah, you're an automatic felon if you are a lawful gun owner who decides to use an illegal drug. That needs to change.
A new law stands to benefit over 8,000 Utahns each year, whose driver licenses will no longer be suspended for violating a drug law that has nothing to do with operating a vehicle.
This bill would impose a first degree felony on a drug dealer if they sell to a person who fatally overdoses on the drug.
This law would put an end to the practice where those guilty of a drug offense have their driver license suspended, even if they weren't driving at the time of the offense.
