Some compare app-based gig workers to entrepreneurs, a cherished class of workers responsible for creating jobs and value in the economy. But while gig workers may embody the creative, action-oriented business mindset of entrepreneurs, they’re still one-person teams dependent on app-based platforms to connect with clients.
