• HB211: Penalty for False Statement During Drug Arrest (2024)
  This bill enhances any underlying crime by one degree if a suspect falsely says they have ingested drugs after arrest. When suspects do this, law enforcement must take the suspect to the hospital to be medically cleared prior to booking, wasting law enforcement and hospital resources and taxpayer dollars.
  
  This bill passed the House 73-0 and passed the Senate 18-5. Libertas supports a "nay" vote.
• HB247: Alcohol Control Amendments (2023)
  This bill expanded civil liability for individuals who sell alcohol to a buyer who then goes on to injure or kill someone while intoxicated, even though they were not at all involved in the subsequent injury or death.
  
  This bill passed the House 64-6 and passed the Senate unanimously. Libertas supports a "nay" vote.
• HB254: Penalty for False Statement During Drug Arrest (2023)
  This bill would have made it an additional crime for someone to falsely claim they ingested drugs before their arrest.
  
  This bill passed the House 68-1 but did not receive a Senate vote. Libertas supports a "nay" vote.
• HB524: Social Media Usage Modifications (2023)
  This bill would have restricted an online platform's ability to moderate content on a private forum and violated the First Amendment.
  
  This bill failed in the House, 32-40. Libertas supports a "nay" vote.
• HB120: Continuing Education on Federalism (2014)
  This bill required education on federalism issues for a designated person in each state or local government office.
  
  Libertas Institute supported this bill. Having seen instances in which attorneys working for the state have failed to articulate the arguments that would counter the federal government's wrongful claim to authority, we support efforts to ensure that these individuals better learn the case law, legal theories, and legal arguments to be used in defense against an encroaching federal government.
  
  This bill passed the House 52-19 and passed the Senate 15-12. Libertas supports a "yea" vote.
