Occupational licensing has become a significant topic of debate in recent years. Advocates of licensing argue that licensing requirements protect public safety and consumer welfare, while critics contend that they restrict competition, raise prices, and limit job opportunities.
Utah must pass increasing amounts of legislation supporting veterans through the reduction of occupational licensing barriers.
This shift will ensure that only the most qualified workers are allowed to work, rather than just those who have been able to navigate the bureaucratic licensing process.
A conviction in one’s past should not be a nearly insurmountable roadblock to a prosperous future.
