This new bill could provide a solution to current issues with social worker licensing exams by removing various examination requirements for licensure as a certified social worker or social service worker.
It is clear that the deregulation of laws dictating who can gain employment in various jobs is needed to combat labor shortages. The best place to start this deregulation should come from a reexamination of licensing laws.
Unfortunately, in many places across the country a criminal record, even if the crime happened long ago or was minor in nature, can be an impediment to employment.
This shift will ensure that only the most qualified workers are allowed to work, rather than just those who have been able to navigate the bureaucratic licensing process.
