So, as you celebrate the Fourth of July, just remember that the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution were not an ending point, but a beginning.
This may seem unpalatable given present circumstances, but if long-lasting solutions can be obtained as a result, positive reform can be achieved without upending our rule of law.
If our justice system should err, let it be on the side of presuming innocence. By abolishing the use of deception towards minors, the vulnerable are protected and the innocent kept free.
