It’s official. As the New York Times recently reported, some US banks are denying their services to people whose banking activities trigger an algorithm, or whose political views they dislike. The bankers call breaking customers’ financial security and centuries of confidentiality precedent to aid government snoops “de-risking.”
As we work toward improving student safety, public officials must think twice before readily handing over millions of dollars to companies offering highly invasive products and services to be used on children — especially when the technology has repeatedly been shown to be ineffective.
Utah may have raised some concerning red flags, but because it has taken the step to audit and identify problems, it’s now perfectly positioned to solve them.
School choice laws certainly won’t resolve culture wars, but it will move battlegrounds away from schools. Let parents and students choose for themselves — and not for others — who teaches and what they will teach
It’s time that government barriers are lifted on housing so Utah can fully shine as the sanctuary it has always encompassed.
Strict zoning regulations don’t just contribute to the proliferation of HOAs in cities. Strict zoning also causes HOAs to appear in areas you might not expect them — small towns, areas outside of the city limits, and even throughout rural and semi rural areas.
