When asked if bringing toys is really going to cause harm, Special Agent Ebenezer Scrooge quickly corrected the question. “Harmful contraband, not toys,” he sharply retorted. 
This bill allows an individual to appeal the suspension of their license for a first-time DUI, in limited cases.
Individuals with court debt shouldn't have to continue to struggle due to suspended driver’s licenses from unpaid government fines or fees. Without a driver’s license, reliable transportation is difficult to obtain, making it hard for people to hold down stable employment.
Over-criminalization is a plague that has spread across the country, including Utah. With over 10,000 laws and new ones being passed every year, there comes a point when the criminal code needs to be reexamined.
This bill would impose a first degree felony on a drug dealer if they sell to a person who fatally overdoses on the drug.
Holding a raccoon or allowing a swine to run at large can land you in jail in Utah… but with new legislation on the way, hopefully for not much longer.
